Information About the City of Riyadh

Riyadh plural of Rawda “kindergarten”, the land is green and orchard. Riyadh was named because of the abundance of low and equal land that was called Riyadh. Riyadh is the capital of Saudi Arabia. It is the largest city in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf and is located about 600 meters above sea level in the eastern part of the plateau of Najd. The city of Riyadh is the first front of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia being the political and administrative capital of the government. It is the headquarters of the Saudi Royal Court, the government, various ministries and central government and military bodies Riyadh has great economic importance as it is the headquarters of the general administrations of a large number of banks and major economic companies. It is also the center of one of the world's largest financial cities (King Abdullah Financial Center).

Riyadh City Festivals

In Riyadh, there are many festivals of heritage, culture, poetry and touristic. The most famous festival of the Kingdom in general and Riyadh in particular, Al Janadriya Festival is a heritage and cultural festival held since 1405 H corresponding to 1985 Gregorian. The first edition of the festival was held on the twenty-fourth of March 1985/1405 H, Al Janadriya festival is usually scheduled in the spring between February and March and attracts many visitors inside and outside the Kingdom, and is held under the supervision of the Ministry of the National Guard of Saudi Arabia. There are also dates festival and Spring Festival of Riyadh for the design and coordination of gardens and flowers. .
